Cherish. Engage. Embrace. Remember.

My yoga and meditation practice has been in a free form flow for a long time. It’s not formal, nor precious, it doesn’t take the straight path, and neither do I. My wake up practice sets the tone of micro meditations for my day.
I open the door to feel the sky on my skin, the morning touching my eyes, and I let the trees inspire my movement. It’s often just a minute, a micro practice, yet the sensations speak, and all it takes is seconds to shift my morning routine into a shimmering awareness where I notice everything. Even if difficult emotions are running high, the simple act of being present feels like a protective and spacious cocoon.
“Sit down. Don’t open your eyes. Don’t move. Pay attention. Return to the breath.”
Have you been told this is the way?
There may be times this style of meditation has value.
But if you are trying too hard, limiting or forcing your practice to be something you think it should be, consider this: there is another way.
Stand.
Move.
Engage.
Touch.
Feel.
Love.
Notice.
Remember.
Let your awareness, whether joyful or painful, go where it is asking to go.
There is your meditation hall.
You already have your own unique practice. It’s when you’ve been captivated, in the zone, lost yourself in something you love, or lived with the thunder of pain. You already know how.
Let me guide you deeper.

All the meditations you have ever loved
Are vibrating in this luxurious hum
This is the ancient knowing
A sanctuary that is everywhere
Dissolve in wonder
Let the heart be itself and feel
whatever is there.
In the intercourse Of unknowable and known
An awakening will be born in you
As you join with that reality
That you already are.
